4.0 out of 5 stars Another good one!, 13 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Lynne Graham is, without doubt, one of the best authors Mills and Boon have. She totally understands what romance is all about. Wonderfully written novels with quirky heroines and hero's any one could fall in love with. The Italian Boss's Mistress is no exception to this. Second of the series which began with Tabby and Christiens story in The Frenchmans Love Child, here we meet Pippa and Andreo. To be honest, I prefered this to the first book, mainly I think, because I found the characters to be much more likeable, and the story much more enjoyable. Pippa is a typical Graham character, unsure of her own appeal, awkward and self conscious. She hides behind her career, determined not to make the mistakes her own mother made. Andreo is the self assured, millionaire boss. Deliciously sexy, and very determined to have his own way. As always, Graham creates a hero who manages to be macho without being mysoginistic. Totally in control, yet with a slight edge of vulnerablity. Definitely a keeper for all Graham fans, I enjoyed this one tremendously. Looking forward to the next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another awesome read from Lynne Graham, 11 Sep 2005

I loved this book before I even opened it because the picture of the hero on the front cover was very appealing and reader friendly. The contents of course did not diasppoint. This was the second book of the triology - Brides of L'Amour. Ever heard of the saying don't make assumptions because you will make an ass of yourself etc or don't believe everything you hear or don't eavesdrop beacuse you will hear nothing good about yourself?. Well our heroine Pippa Stevenson heard nothing good about herself nor about the big boss of Venstar - Andreo D'Alessio largely because his sychophantic Men in Black executives misunderstood his comments about her in an employee photogragh shown to him sometime ago in Naples. So her immediate boss for selfish reasons of his own passed Pippa over for promotion beacuse she was not considered 'a looker' and will not impress the Boss who wanted to see the company promote more women to excutive positions. Of course Pippa heard why she was passed over for promotion. She formed the worst opinion of her Boss worse still she thinks he is a lecherous balded oldie. So Pippa decided to attend the staff welcome party for Andreo, but first the ugly duckilg had to shed her boring grey suit and her usual hair do and change into a very beautiful red haired swan. Who better to make her over than her friend - Hilary( the heroine in Banker's wife). So Pippa arrived to the staff party unrecoginsed by her colleagues beacuse of the tremendous change in her appearance and of course Andreo fell head over hills in love with her. They were attracted to each other like two magnets and not properly introduced, but Andreo became even more interested when Pippa voiced her opinion of her Italian boss and Andreo who prides himself in being one of the best employers could not understand why this woman he is passionately attracted to thinks the worst of him. He of course did not let her know who he was exactly and they share a very passionate and unforgettable romantic night. She woke up late in his hotel room and rushed off to work with promise of a romantic rendezvous that evening only to find out during the staff briefing that her gorgoeus, to die for Italian Andreo is her boss, then the story began to unfold in a classic Lynne Graham romance. The story line and plot are filled wiith humour and intrigue, and leaves you wandering what will happen next. Throw in an alpha Italian male with a smart and strong heroine what you get is real hot stuff. I enjoyed this book very much and I am sure you will too.
