Product Description

From the Author

FOR HIS EYES ONLY is a military romantic suspense set aboard a US Naval warship home-ported in San Diego, California. It is the story of Special Agent Reese Garrick and his mission to bust a deadly criminal ring aboard the USS Baddager. But first, Reese must figure out how to get around his "running mate" and baby-sitter, Lieutenant Jade Parker. As far as Jade is concerned, she doesn't have the time nor the inclination to help some two-bit actor get into character. Unfortunately, by the time Jade learns Reese's real identity, getting him into the ship's Nuclear Support Facility is the least of her worries--keeping him out of her heart is another matter altogether. The Reviews:

"Impressive new author Candace Irvin... knows just how to blend romance and suspense with wonderful authenticity. A bright new star for lucky readers." 4 1/2 Stars, Top Pick, and the W.I.S.H. Award--Romantic Times Magazine.

FOR HIS EYES ONLY is a stunningly well-written debut book by Candace Irvin, a new author to watch. Ms. Irvin has created a romantic suspense with characters so richly crafted with an effortless use of humor, wit and sensual detail rarely seen in a debut book. Add to this an intriguing story line so tightly developed that it flows smoothly from beginning to end despite satisfying twists and turns. It is apparent from the beginning that Ms. Irvin has a clear understanding of life in the Navy; so clear she makes the reader feel part of the crew. The writing is crisp, fresh and timely as she confronts the often touchy issue of condoms in a humorous but sensitive manner rarely found even in the works of more experienced writers. FOR HIS EYES ONLY may be a June release but run don't walk to your nearest bookstore and order it now. You don't want to be left without your copy of *THE* debut book of the year.

I loved this book. The writing was great, but mostly, I adore strong heroines who aren't afraid to show their strength. Who wants to read about a simpering little wallflower? The woman I know are more than a match for their men, and I love how Ms. Irvin writes heroines. Great, great book! I can't wait for her next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars For His Eyes Only is a book your eyes won't want to miss!, 9 Jun 1999

Lieutenant Jade Parker is they type of heroine I love to see, strong, compitent and completely feminine. Reese is a hero who is strong enough to deal with Jade's strengths and augment them. Watching their relationship form was delightful - and reading Candace Irvin's first book just left me hungry for her second!
