Synopsis
"Back Page United" follows the story of Manchester United from their first ever league match as Newton Heath in 1892 right up to the end of the 1989-90 season, with its dramas on and off the field - the Knighton affair and Ferguson's multi-million pound transfer deals. England's biggest and most famous football club has rarely been off the back pages - and has frequently taken over the front - during the last 100 years. Billy Meredith, the Busby Babes and the Munich air disaster, George Best and Bobby Charlton have all helped to develop the aura that surrounds United.
