4.0 out of 5 stars Going with their strengths! An excellent and amusing read!, 6 April 2001
Finally Dan Cragg and David Sherman is giving more focus to their original character, Dean. The return is strengthening the series story line and gives incresed enjoyment of the book. In short I'liked the story and characters. A pleasant suprise in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars More focussed, but slightly inconsistant, 14 April 2001
At last there seems to be a direction to the series that was hinted at in book 4, Blood Contact. Very well written, but as I said before slightly inconsistant. For example 1; Pasquin, Dean and Claypoole are said to be in the same fireteam, whereas Claypoole is in Kerr's fireteam. 2; Claypoole and Dean are said to have saved the ambassador in book 3, Steel Gauntlet, when it was actually Dean and MacIlargie. To those who don't know what I'm talking about get the books and read 'em :=)

Other than that slight niggle, the plotting is tight and the action good. There are a few surprises and even tho' it is set some 500 yrs from now, politicians and governments don't change *grin*. All in all a worthy addition to the series. All I ask now is for authors to hurry up and write the next installment. Please guys, I gotta get it.
