5.0 out of 5 stars Murder mystery at its best, 6 May 2001
This book follows Meren, the eyes and ears of the living god Tutankhamen. He investigates a murder which has caused outrage amongst the highest ranks. With an array of suspects all with their own motives and ever changing settings it really does drag you along. Set in Ancient Egypt it has engaging likeable characters, in depth descriptions and unconfusing speech. The story is made easy to follow and any background information is provided. The flow is very good and easy to follow. It's an unusual setting for a murder mystery but it works so well. I really enjoyed it. This is the first in a series which I now fully intend to complete.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Rocks, 28 Nov 2006

This book has it all. It's so intense and you cannot tell who it is. The characters are all so vividly described; you can see them in your head which I find important. This is a great murder mystery full of twists and turns. Lord Meren is the main character and it is set just after the fall of the Great heretic. You would not regret buying this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action and intrigue with the 'eyes and ears of Pharoah'., 16 Dec 1996
By A Customer
Robinson has filled the Egyptian desert with people who work for a living, drink a little much, and just want to get ahead - you'll never look at the ruins in the same way again. Lord Meren, the eyes and ears of Pharoah, must sort through these people to find, not only a murderer, but an enemy who threatens the very soul of the Pharaoh. The writing is very clear and moves right along. Fun to read.
