I have a very old copy of this book, given to me by my mother and I started using it in the late eighties during my late teens. I loved it, it was so easy to follow and enjoyable. I never woke up feeling like I'd just been put through an army assault course! I stopped doing it for a few years and started again after having children and it has made such a difference to my life, I can't believe I ever stopped. I don't have much spare time as I have two toddlers but I squeeze in half an hour of yoga after their bedtime and I feel like a new person and look like one too. I would recommend this book to anyone!

I also have an old copy of this book passed on from my mum. It is without doubt the best yoga book I have come across. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is a section with each exercise which shows you the area of your body you are working on. Put on some music and take half an hour each night to relax, it's well worth it. The results are excellent. Straight away you will feel more energetic and less stressed. Yoga is also excellent for your posture and will do your back the world of good. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.

I agree with other readers that this is the best lifetime plan Yoga book there is. I have been practising Yoga for over 30 years using the Richard Hittleman plan and classes. However, I must offer a word of caution for new users - some of the exercises are not now recommended by Yoga teachers (e.g the head stand) and the Plough should be used with caution as both the exercises can effect the neck if overdone. This advice, of course, applies to most Yoga books. Apart from this enjoy this excellent book.
