5.0 out of 5 stars From the Authors..., 6 Jul 2006
A2 Sociology For AQA (the companion volume to AS Sociology For AQA) offers complete and comprehensive coverage of the second year of the A-level Sociology Specification.

Module 4: Religion; Power and Politics; World Sociology

Module 5: Theory and Methods

Module 6: Crime and Deviance; Stratification and Differentiation

A2 study involves the need for both greater theoretical and evaluative depth than its AS counterpart and the text combines both classical (Marx, Durkheim, Weber...) and contemporary sociological theory (Luhmann, Baudrillard and Foucault...) to achieve this aim.

Like its AS counterpart, the text is constructed around the extensive use of key words designed to help and encourage students to focus on significant sociological concepts. A variety of integrated exercises are also used throughout the book, mainly designed to encourage the practice and development of interpretation, analysis and evaluative skills.

In writing this text the idea was to produce something that, while informative and challenging to all abilities and interests, is one students will enjoy reading - not only to help them achieve the best possible grade in their A2 examinations but also, more importantly perhaps, because we firmly believe Sociology is a fascinating subject to study in its own right.
