This book is a delight! With luminous prose, Sy Montgomery has captured the cheerful enthusiasm with which many pigs greet their day. Her writing has brought Christopher to life as we share in his daily adventures. Just today, while visiting a local 400 pound boar, Wilbur, I was able to better appreciate, from reading The Good Good Pig, his gleeful snuffling grunts at having his back scratched. Thank you, Ms. Montgomery, from both of us!

What an unusual book. I wasn't too sure at the begining what anyone could find to say about a pet pig................but the story is beautiful and involves a lot of people, especially children who come to see Christopher Hogwood as a very special friend. Believe it or not I actually cried at the end. Well worth reading!

I am about three quarters of the way through this book and thought while I was on Amazon I would see what other people had said about it, not much it seems! I've got to say i'm still waiting for a story to unfold, to me it's just not interesting enough to warrant writing a book for people outside their village to read. A lot of the book is taken up with many facts about animals, I would call myself an animal lover, but if I wanted to know facts I would read an encyclopedia, its not what I personally want from a bedtime book. I guess the fact i am still continuing to read it says something but I would not recommend it i'm afraid.
