The title focuses on the major themes in British Foreign Policy in the inter-war years, starting with Britain's involvement in the Versailles Peace Settlement and how this impacted on foreign policy in the 1920s. Particular attention is paid to Anglo-German relations in the 1930s and the debate over appeasement, as well as examining why Britain went to war in 1939 rather than earlier.
Throughout the book key dates, terms and issues are highlighted, and historical interpretations of key debates are outlined. Summary diagrams are included to consolidate knowledge and understanding of the period, and exam style questions and tips for each examination board provide the opportunity to develop exam skills.
