This is a smashing book with great rhythm and rhyme and lovely illustrations. The friendly witch searches and searches for a place to rest ignoring her sensible cat who suggests a bed would be best. While the cat is dreaming of luxurious velvet and satin, the witch tries out all manner of interesting animal homes - did you know a gorilla sleeps in a treetop nest and swifts sleep drifting on the wind? But in the end none she decides her own bed is best. A lovely story for preschoolers/KS1.

This is a delightful book! We originally borrowed it from the library and the boys, (ages 3 and 5), loved it so much that we ended up having to buy it.

We follow the very tired witch and her long suffering cat, Matt, on a journey round the world in an attempt to find the best bed. On the way the witch and Matt explore the different ways that lots of different animals sleep - and poor Matt seems none too impressed by the whole thing. The rhyming text is lovely and zips you along, (with some grins in there for the parents too), and the illustrations are fantastic too, with lots of things to look at.

I would highly recommend this book!
