Product Description

Mrs H Lowbridge, The Kings School, Wolverhampton

Easy to dip into. Neat and compact.

Review

It is a must-have for the A Level ICT department and at this price easily worth requesting the pupils to purchase. It is certainly going to be added to the booklist for my ICT teacher trainees, not in the least since we put them through a project creation process for themselves. 5.0 out of 5 stars An invaluable companion for GCE ICT6 Coursework, 19 April 2003
By A Customer
This book is invaluable for students who are starting out on their A Level Coursework. It clearly sets out the different between AS and A Level.

The Analysis section is really helpful as the book describes exactly what is required in clear English with good examples that show the benefits of using appropriate formal methods. Truly demistifying, showing how a problem can be broken down and modelled.

This book really helps kick start a project.

3.0 out of 5 stars I could write this., 26 Dec 2003
By Rishi (Leicester, England United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I don't see how this is supposed to clear the fog from your eyes. If you attend ICT class, and you don't smoke or drink much, then you should really know almost everything that is in this book.

In my opinion, the difference between AS and A2 coursework isn't trickery. In this coursework, you actually are credited for the aesthetics. I did not put much effort into my AS coursework, it was mainly done in the last week...and I got an A for it.

For my A2 coursework...I might put in a month's worth of real work.

The book is good to read...and does give some tips. But I think it's not proportionate to the allocation of marks. Over half of this book is about the actual problem, data analysis, and data flow...then they squeeze implmentation, testing and user guide into just one chapter.

The best tip that you'll get from any book or teacher...is to go through past courseworks, and see what they did...and didn't do...and what they did well, and look at their grades.

4.0 out of 5 stars ICT Coursework For A2, 28 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This book is very useful and contains many diagrams to help understand the theory behind it. It gives information about what is required how it can be done and criteria to meet the exam boards.
