'A brilliant tool.' -- France Magazine 20051101

Product Description

You can either use this pocket-size, easy-to-navigate grammar as a quick trouble-shooter or you can work through it systematically as a grammar course. There is one main grammar point on each double-page-spread, with clear explanations, lots of examples and exercises to check you have understood the particular structure. The grammar coverage is extensive and will be right for you if you are a complete beginner or an intermediate to advanced student or if you are aiming to brush up rusty French. All the grammar points are illustrated with examples in sentences (with translations), so you see the structures in use at the same time as practising your French and increasing your vocabulary. The square, chunky format makes the book easy to carry in your bag or your pocket, so you can keep it handy to use as a useful resource whenever you need a quick answer to a grammar query.

very good book explains some of the excentricities of the language. Why le or la ect. if you want to learn french and are not just interested in ordering tea or coffee when on holiday this is a good book to add to your collection, along with a good dictionary and a good grammar book.

clear and in depth. not something to read for kicks but i find it very useful. i should point out that i am not working through it from beginning to end but rather to look up bits and pieces as i need to. helpfully it gives a few exercises to check you have understood.
