I am currently studying an online journalism course, and have exams this year. Unfortunately I'm one of those who rarely has the slightest clue on politics! Some people just don't have an interest. I started to get sick of reading bulky chapter after bulky chapter of my textbooks, which read so boring that studying became more terrifying than rewarding. I then came across this book.

The Teach Yourself series has always been brilliant, from the language titles to the educational ones like this. Teach Yourself Politics explains, plainly and clearly, the key facts and need-to know basics of politics without having a bright yellow cover with 'FOR DUMMIES' emblazoned across it to make you look like a complete imbecile!

This book covers everything you'd need to know, whether you're embarking on a course, or just need to perk up your knowledge. I found that this book covers a lot of what I need to learn for my central government exam, which is a huge plus.

It's definitive, it's precise, and it teaches you exactly what you need to know without long, drawn-out chapters. I like the fact it's small (unlike textbooks) and I carry it in my bag to read through whilst travelling. It also asks you questions after every chapter to ensure that you're confident.

A definite must-buy for anyone who is far from a know-it-all when it comes to politics!
