I must admit some ambivalence to Teach Yourself books. Having used them successfully in my schooldays I have since found them a little lacklustre in the face of more contemporary learning methods. This title, however, has restored my faith. It is quite unpretentious yet manages not only to educate the reader in buying and using a video camera but also covers the whole editing and compilation process. For good measure it also describes the perils, pitfalls and tips required to successfully video a range of events - from the inevitable wedding through social and family occasions. It's cheap, much is in black and white but the content is more effective than that in books three times the price. Highly recommended.
