5.0 out of 5 stars Better than your average sporting autobiography, 23 Oct 2003
Behind the Network is an extraordinary open insight into the life of one of soccer’s most recognisable faces. Bob’s words take us from his early childhood to the present day and touch on the significant events that have shaped his life, notably the early loss of two brothers during the second world war and his distinguished careers in both soccer and the media.

The final chapters are moving, yet inspirational and will strike a chord on the subject of bereavement. The loss of his daughter, Anna, and the subsequent founding of a charity in her name has dominated his life the past four years and provides a true and open account of this man, husband and father.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not an Arsenal Fan, 12 Jan 2004
By A Customer
I bought this book for my son as a stocking filler. Not only did my son throughly enjoy the book so did I which was a big surprise. Bob writes of his college days and his fight to get into the Arsenal team and prove himself. His insights into football and his obvious love of the game shine through, as do his love for his family. His description of how his daughter fought cancer, but sadly lost the battle was very poignant. I would recommend this book to anyone even someone who does not like football. Bob is a very entertaining writer.

I brought this for my uncle as a christmas present,
And he said it was very interesting, and any footy fan would find it interesting,
It's about a footballing legend who has spent his life time in football.
so this one is for all you football fans.
