Product Description
Most diets are known to be unsuccessful. Leading naturopath Roderick Lane's pioneering Adam and Eve Diet is different - it works because it targets your individual evolutionary type and works in harmony with the body's specific needs. The principle is simple. We each belong to one of five body types - Hunter Gatherer, Pioneer, Pathfinder, Farmer and Dancer. Our type governs our physique and has its own dietary requirements, so treating your body to the best nourishment for its type will reward you with the best possible health. Determine your own body type with The Adam and Eve Diet, and discover: The most effective natural diet for your evolutionary type / What, when and where to eat / How to adapt for stress and life changes / Invaluable recipes and menus for a healthier, happier, slimmer you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adam & Eve not a diet but an understanding of life, 15 Feb 2003
By Jenny C (Manchester) - See all my reviews
I dont do this sort of thing as a rule. But for once I will speak out.

As a long term dieter I have always failed in the second or third week constraints on alcohol and chocolate always, with out fail, destroy my will. Imagine my surprise when I found out why this happens to me and also a system that alowed me, in a limited supply, the emotional props that keep me going!

This is the first of the fourteen, YES FOURTEEN!, books that I have on the shelf that has worked with ease and has left me feeling well and well nourished. Essentially this is a book for life as it is the only system I have across that you can continue on beyond the diet phase. No headaches, no 'detox symptoms' just weight loss and stability.

I gave one of these to my brother who is a biochemist who sniffed and said 'a bit more sensible than most of rubbish you read'. Next time I saw him he rather sheepishly admitted to the loss of about 10lb without noticing it.

This book is really eight diet books in one as it covers your 'biotype' and some common problems as well such as low blood sugar, poor thyroid function and poor adrenal function. Your biotype is your natural shape and structure the 'Pricess Di' builds require one kind of diet and the 'Catherine Zeta Jones' another. If you can't identify your 'type' go to the stress section and sort out the reason why. Things like poor thyroid, adrenal, blood sugar and liver function can make you put on weight inspite of dieting etc.

I strongly recommend this book its is easy and enjoyable to read, gives sensible advice. More to the point what ever your size, shape or dieting history you will find an answer and help in this book.

Yes I am a convert, the problem is now what do i do with the other fourteen books?

4.0 out of 5 stars A helpful guide through the dieting maze., 18 Mar 2002
By A Customer
Whether you fit neatly into the bio-type definitions or not, The Adam & Eve Diet is a useful guide to changing your eating habits and your lifestyle which is essentially what weight loss is all about! There's plenty of sensible advice and helpful tips which should ensure you really get a grip and succeed in your aim of being trimmer, slimmer and healthier than before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very thorough insight into the body's utilisation of food..., 9 Feb 2002
By A Customer
I have read many books on dieting and been on many diets. The Adam and Eve Diet helped me to make sense of why in the past diets have failed for me and why I find it so hard to diet in the first place.

I found the book to be so enlightening and answered a lot of questions, some I had, but some I didn't even know I had! I like the way the book is written because it is easy to read and very easy to understand.

On the whole, they have been able to take this complex, and for me emotional, subject and turn it into common sense. This has given me a much greater knowledge of how I should be eating and adjusting my lifestyle. It is a book I will probably read and refer to over and over again, and I am happy to recommend and even buy further copies for friends and relatives.

I would certainly buy another book written by the same authors and wondering if they could take the same approach to exercise??
