Product Description

The Glastonbury Festival. Three days in June. For many, it's the event of the summer - for three Glastonbury virgins and one fourteen-year-old veteran, it’s going to be a life-changing experience.
Leila, exams over, just wants to have fun. But first she has to find a way to get there...
Jake is playing the festival. This could be his big break. Or his biggest nightmare...
Wilf is forced to sell his ticket, so his only way in is to jump the fence. And there's a big surprise waiting on the other side...
Holly gets in free. It's her tenth Glastonbury. She's promised herself it'll be the last...

From the Publisher

David Belbin is an established young adult author, who has researched his setting thoroughly. Interlocking narratives, a light touch and an interesting dynamic and setting make this the perfect summer read. Festival is one of the launch titles on the new Bite list. Bite is sharp writing about the contemporary teenage experience. Fresh, accessible and original, these are books that stand out from the crowd. The TES recommended Glastonbury as 'a unique growing experience for teenagers' (7/7/00) - now they can read about it vicariously!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great easy read., 16 Mar 2006

I picked this book up at the library because it was about glastounbury festival..a place which I'd LOVE to go to. The book was pretty interesting...David Beblin is obviously very in touch with teenage culture and society. It was one of those easy going, hard-to-put down books. It had quite a lot of story line to it and you feel like youre really there at the festival while reading it. However, I felt the characters of wilf and jake were left too undeveloped..apart from that..great reccomended book!

4.0 out of 5 stars THE festival - it all starts here..., 23 Jun 2002
By Rebecca Hughes (West Sussex, England) - See all my reviews
Summer kicks off for the four main characters when they travel to Glastonbury for the legendary rock festival. For three of them, it's a struggle just getting there but once they arrive, the fun begins. Holly however is a little less optimistic. This is her tenth Glastonbury and wants it to be her last - going with your parents can't be much fun. Poor Jake doesn't get off to a good start, and neither does Wilf. Leila is forced to go with somebody she barely calls a friend but when she meets new people, things really kick off. Starts a little unrealistically as there is no mud but the characters are excellent and I really picked up on the vibes of a festival. After being totally absorbed in this book for twenty-four hours, I can't wait to go to a festival myself. Krank up your stereo and roll on summer!

2.0 out of 5 stars dissapointing, 30 Oct 2003
By A Customer
i thought this book would be brill, i've always dreamed of going to Glastonbury so i thought this book would be good. dont get me wrong david belbin is experianced and writes about Glastonbury very well, but i hated the way the story was shared with lots of people. although i liked the way they were all linked in all these different ways it started to get confusing and muddled up! i was a little disapointed
