Product Description
Dr E J Austin, University of Edinburgh
Well-written, extra material in this new edition is a useful addition

Book Description
Colin Cooper's 'Individual Differences' has been a favourite among lecturers and students of differential psychology since it was published in 1997. Where other texts focus on either the theories of personality or the techniques of psychometric testing, Individual Differences remains unique in being the only textbook to cover both aspects of this intriguing subject.

This second edition has been thoroughly updated in the light of recent research and users comments.

5.0 out of 5 stars As readable as Harry Potter!, 28 May 2000

This review is from: Individual Differences (Paperback)
Individual Differences was recommended to me by a friend so that I might better understand personality, intelligence and psychometrics. I now understand these concepts thanks to the easy, readable style of writing. As well as listing theories the author also evaluates them, referring to the emperical literature - a pleasant change.

5.0 out of 5 stars As sharp as Occam's Razor!, 2 Jul 2000

This review is from: Individual Differences (Paperback)
An informative and enjoyable trip through personnality and psychometrics. Far from having to plough through endless information to try and understand these topics, this book provides an excellent framework for a good understanding of the subject. With reference to empirical research, evaluative criticisim, and self-assessment qusetions the book provides a perfect starting point with directions to more in depth literature. All this and time for the odd joke makes this a must buy text!

5.0 out of 5 stars Colin Cooper, 15 Mar 2007
By Epic Muse (London) - See all my reviews
Colin Cooper was one of my lecturers at Queen's University Belfast. He is a brilliant man (and a very nice one to boot!).

This book provides an excellent introduction to Individual Differences - it is written in an accessible style, and all assertions are backed-up by scientific research.

I warmly recommend this text to anyone seeking to further their knowledge in this fascinating area of psychology.
