5.0 out of 5 stars don't go to sleep!, 7 Nov 2003
By A Customer
I know what you did last summer! There, I've said it, now forget about it because this book is in a different league. Among The Dead is a gripping and disturbing look at friendship torn apart, guilt and possible betrayal. Without wanting to give anything away, there's also a spooky thread running through it that'll have you looking over your shoulder. Great book - read it.

I thought it was a great read. I couldn't put it down and thought that the ending was chilling, in a good way! A fab book by a great author.

4.0 out of 5 stars It energised my week, 16 Jun 2002
By Steve White (Reading, Berkshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Among the Dead (Paperback)
When you start reading you might be reminded of a certain horror movie but that similarity immediately becomes dwarfed by this book's true oiginality. Wignall does write in a terse, almost cold style and that's perfect for this kind of subject and it actually helps you to engage with his characters. It's a very special work of art, cleverly arranged and put together and really very exciting and enjoyable to read. When you'd rather just stay where you are and keep reading than go off and make a meal or whatever it is you need to do then you know you're hooked.

This is a difficult review to write but I feel I have to deliver an honest opinion. OK, People Die was fantastic so maybe I was expecting too much but this novel feels strangely... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Tension mounts as the past catches up with the killers
Another taut read from Wignall - and very much in keeping with the terse style of his superb debut, People Die. Read more
