3.0 out of 5 stars Great guide but dreadful reference, 26 Mar 2002
By A Customer
I would strongly recommend reading this book to anyone about to do a CELTA or other TEFL course - it's a great step-by-step guide to the world of EFL teaching, and especially what a course holds.
BUT sadly it's usefulness almost ends there as it is just a good prep guide, its index has less words in it than this review and it is nigh-on useless as a reference guide, if you want a comprehensive guide to refer back to get Jeremy Harmer's bible (Practice of English Language Teaching). If you're not sure what TEFL is or are thinking of doing a course - get this as it will get you focussed and thinking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Useful book when studying for TEFL exams, 14 Nov 2004
By A Customer
I found this a very useful book when studying for my TEFL exams. Good ideas and lesson plans. Covers everything well for a paperback book. Well worth having along side you other books.
