An absolutely wonderful maths text book for A/AS levels. It is clear, summarised and also witty at the same time! Example methods are clear. Exercises are carefully designed with (correct) answers. Formulae are explained step by step. End of chapter summary is also extremely helpful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Provides helpful preparation for the exams, 20 Jul 2004
This book is an ideal tool to supplement learning and revision for the P2 exam. Each chapter has clear learning outcomes.

Key points are highlighted and explained clearly and concisely. More importantly, there are various worked examination questions for you to look through so that you can get a feel for the sorts of things that will be asked in the real examination and the standard of answer required.

My Maths teacher has told me (on more than one occasion) that maths students often lose marks not because they don't know their stuff but because they fail to show their method properly. The explanations in this book does help address this.

There are also plenty of questions for you to try and the answers are provided at the back. There doesn't appear to be any errors in the answers.

A word of warning though - I wouldn't recommend this book as the ONLY revision aid. Use it to learn/refresh key concepts and to try some questions.
I believe real exam success comes from attempting as many past exam questions as possible and these can be obtained from your school and the Edexcel Examining Board.
