It's not made clear in the product description, but this CD is the companion to a book of the same name.

Teach yourself Modern Greek CDs were very thin on the ground when I bought this and I was hoping to get a CD I could listen to as I drove to and from work and pick up enough Greek to flirt with the waitresses on holiday! Unfortunately, the dialogue assumes you have access to the book, so not everything is explained fully and the tracks are fairly long (5 - 10 mins), making rewinding and listening again more laborious than it need be with the CD format.

Having said all this, I seem to be picking up some Greek without the book, so it must be working - and don't think there's anything more suitable on the market at present.

Overall, it seems to be reasonably good as a traditional "book & tape" course, but it doesn't seem to have been designed as a solely CD-based language course for beginners, as the product description may lead you to believe.

One of the best language courses, great variety of dialog on CD, well written book with good exercises to complete.
