At 49 going through the menopause (for me) has been very unsettling and scary, a real sense of a new chapter in my life. This book has been invaluable in helping me understand the changes that are happening. What I did not expect was how much more I would understand about what has been happening on the inside over the last 35 years! I will be giving a copy to my 23 year old daughter.

I found it easy to read and liked Hilary Jones' informal style. I can't say I can remember all the facts about the different hormones but NOW I do know where I can go if I want clarification. All aspects of the menopause and women's health are covered comprehensively. There is a good section on complementary therapies as well as prescription therapies.

I totally recommend this book - a deeper understanding has given me peace of mind.
