2.0 out of 5 stars Waste of paper, 11 May 2000
This is a terrible, embarrassing book. Every girl, as we all know, has a choice between boring, devoted men and rich playboys with helicopters. Naturally it is written from a female point of view, but the overt stupidity of virtually everything in the book makes it hard to read without resenting it. The plot is dire, the scenes change when the author runs out of clangers and the any possible drama is destroyed by a) its total implausibility and b) the thin, uninteresting characters. Everything is sacrificed to a girly view of the world that makes magazines like 'Just 17' seem like the TLS...

5.0 out of 5 stars Shocked at the poor reviews, 17 Mar 2003

I put this book down and thought it was possibly one of the best of this "chic fic" genre I'd read in a long time.

Honey is a girl who is about to get married to a dependable young man Ed, but has been wondering about the man she thought was the love of her life, Alex who she met for one night 7 years ago...

This is funny, warm and addictive reading - more of the same please!

4.0 out of 5 stars A roller-coaster romance, 18 Nov 2001
By A Customer
A good beach read. This girl has more ups and downs in her life than The Big One at Pleasure Beach. If you think your love life is a mess you really need to read this and realise it isn't ever that bad. A little far fetched at times but it will have you laughing one minute and crying the next.

If you're looking for an intellectually challenging novel don't bother, if you want something light to take on holiday you could do a lot worse. I hope there are more books in the pipeline from Amy Jenkins.
