Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Conversations with God started when the author in the midst of a frustrating low-point in his life wrote a letter to God and was replied to. The book takes the format of the author questioning and God answering him. The theme that runs continually through the book is to remember our divine origins. Walsch's book makes God accessible in an almost secular way, different to our Bible-based one. An immediate, humorous, "guy next door kinda God" reminding us of basic truths. The book is written for Westerners and is practical and daily-life oriented, with answers on sexuality, money, relationships and health amongst many others. Conversations with God has the potential to reprogramme you to see the divine and spirituality in a totally new light.

The question to be asked is "is this really God?" and indeed Walsch asks it and is replied: "What difference does it make? Even if everything I've said is 'wrong', can you think of a better way to live?" "No" replies Walsch and if you are searching for spiritual answers and have not found your traditional distant God helpful, then this book could be for you. --Peter Lloyd --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Review

I read this and it completely turned everything I believe about religion on its head. If you are at all religious, you should read this book.' (Francis Rossi of Status Quo, Metro )

5.0 out of 5 stars This huge source of knowledge changed me, 9 Jul 2006
I know that I'm not the first person saying this, but here it goes again: This was the most important book I've ever read in my life. It helped me to clear the way I see the Life and It's Meaning. It was a beautiful feeling that I got while I was reading this book. I read all the 3 books of Conversations with God and I really recommend it for everyone who wants to understand the Universe in a different way. Some important things about this book: it isn't to be read as a Bible (feel the information - don't dogmatize the words); this is a book about spirituality, not about religion. This is a huge source of knowledge that really changed me. This book can help you in your Journey, if you want to and if you open your mind and your heart for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "peak moment" as Abe Maslow would say, 29 Jul 2001
I struggle when I listen to a play by Shakespeare because I find it difficult to understand the words. I hate this feeling of inadequency and wish that someone could translate William's works so that I could better understand them -ie. demystify them or make them readily comprehensible for the masses (never mind the fact that when they were written, it was the masses they were aimed at...). So what has the above got to do with "Conversations with God"? Simple answer to that. "If God/Life is like a play by Shakepeare, Neale Donald Walsch has brought me the layman's translation. I have a better understanding of God and Life now - through these simple words - than I got from years of reading the official text books on the matter. Churchill was right when he said: "Use simple words, then everyone will understand." Now that I "get it", it is time to practice it and that is the hard part. Funny really, all my life searching for the answers contained within this book to find out that the real effort starts now -practicing the knowledge acquired. But then again, as always, the reward lies in the struggle. Take care.

5.0 out of 5 stars The power of creation, 9 Mar 2009
By Stefanie Lueck "stefanie2263" (Hamburg) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a wonderful and refreshing book about beliefs; a book that answers many questions about life, enlightenment and creation in an exceptional way.
In an inspiring dialog with God, Neale Donald Walsh shows us a new possibility of being whereby freedom and enlightenment are always with us in the moment.

"Enlightenment is the understanding that you don't need to go anywhere, don't have to do anything and don't need to be anybody except for the Being you are now. Heaven, how you call it, is nowhere; it's now and It's here."
This book is an inspiration for anybody looking for freedom and satisfaction in their lives.
Another book I can recommend from my heart is Working on Yourself Doesn't Work: The 3 Simple Ideas That Will Instantaneously Transform Your Life
With great humor and compassion these two authors show us a way into the moment, where we can find satisfaction and fulfillment in our modern and busy world.
