Product Description

Product Description

Montgomery Clift was one of the biggest film stars of his day, co-starring with the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, and influencing Marlon Brando and James Dean. This book explores his life and career, looking at how he was forced to conceal his homosexuality to live up to his image of a sex symbol.

By A Customer
I eagerly seek out anything to do with Montgomery Clift.Lying on the sofa one afternoon I chanced upon a film called "The Heiress" and I was hooked. The brooding eyes, the strong jawline.... Even though he'd been dead for 19 years I was still gutted when my teacher told me he was gay. Nevertheless the fascination still continues, and over the years I've read a lot about his troubled life. Therefore when I heard about this book I was expecting an invaluable insight into the mind of a legend. What I got was the author's description of a bit of rough and tumble with a largely disinterested film star....The author then proceeds to plagiarise all the other books that have been written about Monty. Not worth bothering with, sorry.
