I was always told to never judge a book by it's cover. Usually, this golden rule has done me no wrong. 'The Jimmy Hill Autobiography' however, must be an exception.

For three months, I struggled to plough my way through this account of Football maestro, Jimmy Hill's life. It was only my stubborn refusal to finish the book, regardless of how dull Mr Hills life is, that prevented me from dropping it into a big incinorator.

Come on, Jimmy. You are a legend. You can do better than this. The success you have seen and the life you must have lived as a glamourous footballer must be worthy of addressing. Instead, your legion of fans are presented with a half hearted account of season after season, TV appearence after TV appearence....

Best avoided unless you are a huge Hill appreciator...
