Product Description

Book Description
As teachers we often talk about ‘covering’ grammar points. Scott Thornbury explains why it is more useful to think about how we ‘uncover’ grammar, to reveal the workings of the system to our students and encourage them to notice what is going on.

The book uses extracts from exchanges in real classrooms, authentic texts and language teaching tasks. It provides lots of practical activities so that you can immediately and easily put the ideas to work in your classroom. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

About the Author
Scott Thornbury teaches, trains and writes in Barcelona where he works for International House. As well as in Spain, he has taught and trained in Egypt, the UK and in his native New Zealand. He has written two books on grammar, as well as numerous articles. His present interests include discourse analysis, classroom interaction, second language acquisition and critical pedagogy and the relationship between all four. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.
