Product Description

The first book about a remarkable nutritional treatment for three of the most common learning disabilities. Learning disorders have reached epidemic proportions. Now, a growing body of scientific research is proving that ADHD, dyslexia and dyspraxia can all be dramatically improved with a simple nutritional supplementation.

THE LCP SOLUTION reveals how a prominent British researcher discovered that a diet rich in essential fatty acids was the key to boosting the abilities of children suffering from dyslexia and dyspraxia at exactly the same time as researchers at Purdue University were getting similar results with ADHD children.

The book details the research while vividly illustrating the dramatic transformation in the lives of the children (and adults) benefiting from this treatment.

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential read - why didn't I know about this before!, 26 April 2002

(REAL NAME)
This book is essential reading for any parent who has a child with dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD. The information contained in the book is up to date, well researched study and easily read and understood by parents and professionals alike.

I appauld the work done by Dr. Stordy and many others mentioned in the book for bringing this vital information into the public arena. How I wish though that I had known about it 16 years ago when I had my 2 children very close together. From reading the chapters on pregnancy and breast feeding I understand now that perhaps my second child's problems are due to the fact that my body did not have time to replenish these essential fatty acids needed for good brain development in subsequent pregnancies. So I would also recomend this book to anyone considering or is already pregnant to ensure their diet is at optimum levels to aid development of their growing fetus.

Some of the testimonials from delighted parents contained in the book and the dramatic sounding title could sound too good to be true, but in fact I have seen exactly the same improvements in my children. I have had a copy of this book since it was published in the USA a couple of years ago and it has been passed round many friends who have also seen remarkable changes in their children.

Many parents whose children have learning problems often feel frustrated by the lack of help and support available. This book will help them to understand why these problems may have originated and then what to do about it. The list of further contacts and emails address's contained in the book is particulaly helpful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent ... and it works in practice ..., 9 May 2003
This is an informative book with excellent research material which makes interesting reading. Having heard of Jacqueline Stordy and her work I looked on the web, bought her book and then put my son on Efalex ... the Fish Oil used in the trial and we have noticed a great improvement in our sons concentration and ability to stay on task. We also notice if he doesn't take it!!

I know a number of other parents who have dyslexic or ADD children who also swear by it.

Highly recommend this book if you are interested in understanding how nutrition can help / effect your child.

I have also added it to my list of books on my website for parents of dyslexic children www.dyslexichelp.org

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book bringing hope to many sufferers, 16 Nov 2000
By A Customer
This book sets out in easily read and understandable language the advances made in the treatment of ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Summarising nutritional research into these fields from the last 30 years, the authors have sifted out the relevant facts and present them to the reader in a way that cuts through the scientific jargon and makes it accessible to everyone. With these conditions affecting a growing number of children, this book offers hope and encouragement to parents and families struggling to cope with these disabilities. The only drawback is that some of the nutritional supplements mentioned are not readily available in the UK, although with the interest that this publication is bound to generate, it is only a matter of time before they become more widely available. This is essential reading and will become a bible for all those dealing with these conditions.
