Product Description

This lift-the-flap picture book tells the story of Ben, a bear who lovs butterflies and wants to grow some flowers that will attract them to his garden. Children can read about how he plants his seeds and watches them grow. By lifting the flaps, children can see what is happening under the ground.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good introduction for young children, 20 April 2003
I first read this book to my son in the library at Wisley Gardens, I bought it when I discovered that his nursery were doing projects on Spring and Gardening.
It's a great introduction to the life-cycle of both plants and butterflies and written in a child-friendly way, with plenty of discovery and lift-the-flap pages. I wish they still did the seeds with the book, but we have had lots of fun planting our butterfly garden and my son now knows what will happen while the seeds are growing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ben Plants a Butterfly Garden, 8 Jun 2009
By Aberjosie (Scotland) - See all my reviews
My little one loves this book. It is a great introduction to what happens in a garden, easy to understand and nicely illustrated. Enough flaps to maintain interest but not distracting. Perfect if you are planning a garden/allotment with children or trying to explain about eggs/caterpillars/butterflies. Our little one particularly likes the surprise at the end.
