The treatment of people with schizophrenia has undergone dramatic changes since the 1970s. Approaches to care, collectively known as psychosocial interventions, have emerged from research which have been shown to reduce symptomatology, relapse and improve quality of life. This is a great introduction for all workers in the field of mental health, attempting to work collaboratively with people experiencing schizophrenia.
It is well compiled with a wide range of issues addressed in a pragmatic and realistic way, written by practitioners with the experience of working, not just talking about, these issues.
I cannot recommend this book strongly enough and feel that it should be mandatory reading for all students wanting to develop into effective, collaborative practitioners.
