Product Description

Product Description

This text is aimed at second or third year courses in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, and provides for the needs of these courses without being over burdened with detail. The authors work in one of the foremost centres in Europe for Control Engineering, and bring both teaching and practical consultancy experience to the text, which links theoretical approaches to actual case histories. Including an introduction to the software tools of MATLAB and SIMULINK, this book also includes simulations and examples throughout, and provides a straightforward introduction to Control Engineering for students, and those wishing to refresh their knowledge.

About the Author

JACQUELINE WILKIE (Lecturer), MICHAEL JOHNSON (Reader), and REZA KATEBI (Senior Lecturer) are academic staff at the Industrial Control Centre, at the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, at the University of Strathclyde. They have many years experience, teaching control and measurement across all years of the Undergraduate programme, and have been dedicated to revitalising teaching practice in this subject.

First Sentence
Control engineering is an exciting discipline: without the advances in sensors, actuator devices and control design, space travel would be impossible, music systems would be mono, energy production would be smog-bound and computers would remain the territory of science fiction writers! Read the first page

5.0 out of 5 stars A Brilliant book....., 19 Jan 2004
By A Customer
This book is probabbly the best introductory Control Eng'g book available.

It delivers the subject in a concise and easy-to-grasp manner, and offers good tutorials on the godfather of Control Eng'g software, namely Matlab.
