Product Description

South Yorkshire Times, September 2003

This fast-moving story of youthful wit... this is great holiday reading.

Product Description

A delightfully wicked romantic comedy - if you're a 'When Harry Met Sally' fan - you'll love this book! Can men and women ever really be friends? Lucy and Max have been best friends forever. Lucy, a bored beautician with a sad Jamie Oliver obsession, is determined to find kite-maker, Max a girlfriend. Someone who will meet up to her own high standards. In the name of 'True Love' and with the help of Jamle's 'The Naked Chef', Lucy decides to hold a 'Meet Max' dinner to find Max the right woman, in the form of her beautiful friend, Jenny. Food, wine and romance go hand in hand after all. But soon easy-going Max is running scared of man-eater, Jenny. He decides he'd much prefer to be out flying his power kites than falling into the dating pit again. But fate works in mysterious ways.

4.0 out of 5 stars engaging and entertaining!, 29 Oct 2003
I thoroughly enjoyed Sarah Webb's novel 'Something to talk about'. Sarah has gone from strength to strength with each new novel, establishing herself as one of Ireland's special talents in modern irish womens fiction. The storyline is entertaining and witty. Her charachters interesting and engaging. Sarah Webb's ever climbing sales figures confirms her place in an ever increasingly competitive market. Well done to the author for delivering another hit.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable and entertaining, 12 Sep 2008

Sarah Webb's books are always a good bet for the suitcase. they are usually non taxing, funny and lighthearted. Something to Talk Anout instantly attracted me by its bright, fun cover and the contents of the book lived up to its promise. Its not demanding literature by any stretch nor does it try to be. It explores that old age question - can men and women really just be good friends? Lucy and Max have been best friends forever but will love get in the way and spoil everything? This is a fun read based on twenty-somethings based in South County Dublin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, 4 Nov 2003
I have to admit I'm a big fan of Sarah Webb's work. Her books are light, easy reading - just perfect for cosy nights in by the fire or relaxing by the beach on holiday.

This one is just as good as Always the Bridesmaid or Three Times a Lady. The main character Lucy is very engaging and I think Sarah also has a wonderful way of portraying children in her novels, particularly in this one. They are always so cute and adorable, you almost want to pick them up!

Something to Talk About is a lovely, cosy fun read - another hit from Sarah Webb. Well done!
