5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent collection, 26 Jan 2002
By A Customer
I feel that I must come to this collection's defense. While The Secret Of Annexe 3 isn't his best work, Last Seen Wearing and especially The Riddle of the Third Mile are some of Dexter's work - only The Way Through The Woods is better. OK, they don't contain some of the characterisation of the later books, but in my opinion, that, in the final few books, is used to disguise and pad out exceptionally thin plots.

These books are fantastic mysteries, as simple as that.

3.0 out of 5 stars Slightly disappointing...., 7 May 2001
By A Customer
After having read Colin Dexter's, "Death is Now My Neighbour" and seen many of the television's Inspector Morse series, picking up the Second Inspector Morse Omnibus I thought I'd be in for a treat. Unfortunately this was not the case: three different murders with slightly different storylines.

Compared with Agatha Christie's Poirot series I would call this book simplified and monotonous. Good enough to pass the time of day if you have nothing better to do but not good enough to spend good money on if you could be choosing another author.

I'm not saying "don't read this book" but if you're expecting a treat - don't - you'll only be disappointed!
