5.0 out of 5 stars A must for dog lovers!, 27 Aug 2001
By A Customer
This is a thoroughly enjoyable book for anyone who has shared their life with a dog. The stories focus on the different personalities and ways of dogs and are both touching and amusing. The stories could easily be related to experiences with my own dog and were very funny. This book speaks volumes about how wonderful dogs are and how they bring joy to your life. I have no hesitation in recommending this book. Ideal for any dog lover of any age!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great, 22 Sep 2007
By xenofan "xenofan" (Nottinghamshire, UK) - See all my reviews

If you've read any of James Herriot's books about life as a country vet, then you might want to give this a miss. This book is a compilation of some of the best dog stories from his other books, so it might seem a bit of a waste of money if you've already read them there.

Still though, the stories are great. Heartwarming, timeless (I've already read them, but still had a lot of pleasure reading them again) and if you're new to James Herriot, this is a great place to start.
