5.0 out of 5 stars The best OD book I've ever read, 21 Jun 2004
By A Customer
As an organisational development consultant, I've read literally hundreds of books on OD and change management and this is without question the best book I've ever read. It covers everything you need to know and is both academically rigorous and totally practical (the case studies at the end of each chapter really bring home the message in the chapter). I recommend it wholeheartedly not just to everyone in the OD profession but also to senior managers who are employing change management consultants as it will enable you to sort the wheat from the chaff (the people who know their stuff from the ones who are a triumph of hard sell over substance). I also recommend it to any student of business and management who is thinking of getting into OD. This is a hard to come by book (my second hand copy cost me a small fortune) but it's worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best you can get, 27 Sep 2005
By A Customer
Having read hundreds of books on organisational development I have to say this is the best. It is true to say that this book has never been far from my side over the last seven years. It covers the wide range of activities required to transform organisations, providing intervention theory, diagnosis, learning and development structure design etc. This single work has informed 70% of my thinking towards change management. I cannot rate this book highly enough, its the most important book in my collection and has informed most of the change management work I have conducted. It does take quite a bit of study and even more practice. I want to thank Cummings and Worley for producing this book, it has changed the course of my career.
