Recommended text at Leicester medical school, not sure why. Everyone at my uni ended up either returning it or just leaving it on their shelf never to use it.This has got to be the most incoherent and long winded textbook. If you really must get one out of the library & try reading a chapter or two to see how useless it is.
Seriously save yourself... try Pocock, Vander, Lange... any other physiology textbook, this really is bottom of the pile.
See other med students listmania's, "Burn & Leave it" does not appear on anyone's list!
Unfortunately I had to give this book one star but it doesn't warrant it!

Its badly worded. All the keywords are in heavy bold which makes it difficult to read, as there are just large chunks of text with the bold keywords standing out too much. The diagrams are ok but not amazing.The wording is uninteresting.

I RECOMEND. HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY:An integrated approach. 4th edn. by Silverthorn
Its amazing, well writen. covers all the major topics and the diagrams are amazing. Buy this book instead!

This is a terrible book. It's so poor that we had competitions to find the worst worded passage.
I will recommend ANY OTHER physiology book as they don't come much worse than this.

It does however burn really well and kept us warm in my pot-belly stove for about 2 hours while studying for the neurophysiology exam.
