Book Description
The fastest, easiest way for experienced Avid editors to learn Final Cut Pro.
The only book to teach Final Cut Pro from an Avid editor's point-of-view.
Uses Avid images and terminology as familiar references to guide readers through Final Cut Pro operations.
Bypasses basic editing how-tos for advanced Final Cut Pro tutorials written by professional editors for professional Avid editors. Avid introduced the first professional non-linear video editing system more than 20 years ago, enjoying a lucrative stranglehold on the market until Apple released Final Cut Pro at relatively rock bottom prices a few years ago. With Final Cut Pro growing in popularity, film and video editors must learn both Avid Media Composer and Final Cut Pro to stay marketable. Final Cut Pro for Avid Editors- A Guide for Editors Making the Switch is the only book that teaches Final Cut Pro from an Avid Media Composer user's perspective, using Avid images and terminology as references to guide readers through the program's features and functions. This task-based book doesn't waste time going over editing basics that professional editors already know, but rather explains how Avid editors can get the same job done in Final Cut Pro with detailed feature comparisons, practical conversion tips, and instructions on Final Cut Pro features that aren't available in Media Composer.
Diana Weynand is president and founder of Weynand Training International, a training and consulting firm with a long list of clients that includes ABC, NBC, CBS, Paramount Pictures, and Universal. The firm also delivered the first series of Avid training courses for the Motion Pictures Editors Guild. Weynand is currently directing and editing the documentary, "Making Movies Sing!"
