Product Description

This map is part of the Ordnance Survey's Explorer series designed to replace the old Pathfinder map series. At 1:25,000 scale this detailed map shows a host of attractions including gardens which are open to the public, nature reserves and country parks as well as all official footpaths, bridleways, roads and lanes. Other facilities covered include: camping and caravan sites, picnic areas and viewpoints, selected places of interest, rights of way information for England and Wales, National Trail and Recreational Path routes, and selected tourist information. The main advantages of this map are the geographical design of the sheetlines to capture the best local coverage, and the coverage of a larger area for value for money. The series is aimed mainly at the experienced map user but can be used by tourists and locals alike.

I chose to buy this standard version over the laminated all weather one, due to the fact I'd tried one out before, and to mark the route I was walking, I used a washable marker pen (which is all you can use if you don't want to ruin it with a permanent marker pen), and so the route kept just smudging off whenever the map was folded!

I've therefore gone back to good old fashioned paper maps, using pencil to mark my routes and then a rubber to rub them out, you can't go wrong! Plus it'll save you a few quid getting this one over the other version!

Well done to Amazon by the way for being able to sell this map so cheap, very impressed!

EXACTLY WHAT IT NEEDED TO BE, DIDN'T ACTUALLY NEED IT FOR CLIMBING SNOWDON BECAUSE THE PATHS ARE SO OBVIOUS BUT INVALUABLE FOR OTHER WALKS.

Excellent-as expected for OS map-double sided so large area covered. Snowdon itself near middle on one side-not on join or edge as usually happens on maps!Came quickly, but cover slightly damaged-not quite up to Amazons normal standard.
