5.0 out of 5 stars The best Green Day biography!, 8 Mar 2007
By brigadier (sheffield) - See all my reviews
As a huge green day fan i have found myself reading many biographies of the band. I admit most of them say the same thing about how Billie Joe got his first guitar 'blue' from his dad right before he passed away, right? Wrong! not in this book, this book tells the TRUTH about How things happened, how the members grew up and how they became world superstars. It goes into the band with great detail, especially during their early lives.

The only problems that i have with the book is that: 1) the author is slightly biased towards the band, forever saying, 'green day rock!'2)the other, and most important is that it doesn't really go into much detail about how they came about their mid-career albums: Insomniac, Nimrod, and warning. It even totally skips Shenanigans!

Despite those two problems, i think that this is the best Green Day biography around. It has great interviews with family members of the band and people who were close to them, for example- the real guy who gave Billie Joe the guitar 'blue' which, actually, was infact not Billie's first guitar.
