5.0 out of 5 stars great for kids and adults, 9 Oct 2001
By A Customer
My kids (ages 2 and 4) both love this book, but I have to admit that I bought it because I love Ogden Nash's poetry. The illustrations in this book are hilarious and full of action. They fit together very well with Nash's tale, and I think that the message this book gives about the difference between acting brave and being brave is appropriate for children.

I now have to get the other Custard book, "Custard the Dragon and the Wicked Knight."

4.0 out of 5 stars Custard - a lesson on bravery, 5 April 2009
By Claire (Lancashire, UK) - See all my reviews
I used this book as the focus for a primary school assembly. What a delightful tale in a poem; humorous, but with a deeper message. It had the children's full attention, right from the 4 year olds to the 11 year olds and provoked some really interesting discussions on fear, courage and bravery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ogden Nash , 27 Feb 2009
This is a beautifully illustrated edition. The pictures really help children to understand the magic of Ogden Nash's words.
