This book about Nate was very imaginative. Our 5/6 class read it and thought it was great! It was a great idea to put dinosaurs in the 20th century.

A chicken laying an egg bigger than herself...What's in the egg? Your children will delight when out hatches a triceratops (for you ignorant parents who have kids who are experts in naming dinosaurs thats the dinosaur with the two horns poking out of his head and one from his nose...kind of a rhino with two spears coming out above his eyes) The story outlines the adventures of having a pet dinosuar in the modern world...Fun! I'm 36 now and still vividly remember the story...Your kids will love it!

I first read this book when I was in the third grade. I loved it then because I was into dinosaurs in a big way. The story line is easy to follow and makes for fasinating reading for the author has captured your interest from the first page. I recently went to the library and found this book for my 8 year old daughter so she too could enjoy this book and use her imagination to be there when the dino tips over the truck in washington dc, finally hatches after all the waiting or eats almost all the grass in the county. I re-read this book and enjoyed it as much as the first time. On a scale of 1 - 10, I give it an 11!!!!

My favorite part of this book is when the dinosaur hatches. Dr. Zeimer is so excited that he shows up in his bathrobe! No one knows what it is. Read more
