3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing (some spoilers), 8 April 2008
By P. M. Christie "Paula" (Liverpool UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I really enjoyed the first three istallments of Maximum Ride, but this one is a bit of a let down. The villian is not really fully explained and seems totally random at times. The main problem I have with this book is that for long passages it seems that Mr. Patterson is lecturing his readership in the guise of Antartic Scientists with the attitude of a disappointed science teacher. I agree Global Warming is a serious issue and should be highlighted, but there are more methods and opportunties in fiction (especially sci-fi/fantasy fiction) then to quote facts and figures in great chunks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the others and too fast paced, 16 Mar 2008
Sorry to disappoint but the fourth title in the Maximum Ride series does not follow in the footsteps of its predessors.

The book is too fast paced and too much new information is introduced in the first few chapters.

Patterson has changed Max quite a bit. She is more grown up but a tad preppy.

Most of the characters make amazing new discoveries.

The action is good, if a little unrealistic at times.

But if you are an avid Maximum Ride supporter like myself, read it. It may be better for you.

Overall a must read for hooked Maximum Ride readers, although you will be disappointed.

Sorry.

3.0 out of 5 stars Maximumride 4, 9 April 2008
Maximum ride 4 is nothing compared to the other 3 books i was so disappointed with this one.
there are three problems,
1)the writing in the book is twice the size as the other three books
2)the book is half the size.
3)the chapter starts half way down the page.
i found that this was just another book on James Patterson's list of many books.

this book is not as gripping as the others.
if you are a fan of Maximum ride read this. only to see where the flock will head and the new powers they gain.
but if you are new stay away.

to tell you the truth, this will be the last book i will be reading of James Patterson as he does not write good books anymore....
