A new book by Jane Haddam, one of the most intelligent murder mystery authors writing today, is always a delight. Conspiracy Theory sees Gregor Demarkian unravelling a mystery involving Philadelphia high society, high finance and high paranoia as a group of heavily armed conspiracy theorists visit their strange world views (including the Giant Space Lizard theory, David Icke fans!) upon everyone. As is usual with Haddam this is a traditional mystery novel told with wit, an actual puzzle plot, a wide range of engaging characters, and plenty of rumination on Life As We Know It. It is the latest in the long running Demarkian Series but it can be easily read as a stand alone. Not to be missed!

Conspiracy Theory is the latest in Haddam's series of Gregor Demarkian mysteries but it is not necessary to have read the rest of this long Philadelphia based series to enjoy it. Haddam gives us a traditional, puzzling, witty mystery novel replete with well drawn characters, a true delight to read. This time out Demarkian is faced with America's paranoid underbelly, a world where it seems sane & sensible to suggest that a high financier owes his wealth & position to the "fact" that he is actually not human at all but rather a Giant Space Lizard. Don't miss it!
