This is a filled with passion unauthorized biography by Anna Louise Golden detailing Brandy Norwood's beginnings as the girl who started with a dream, put her faith into the desire, and achieved even more than expected in a short time. The book is a 1998 edition spanning from Brandy's first movie gigs, first 2 albums, TV shows, and up to her relationship with Boyz II Men singer, Wanya Morris. The author does an outstanding job in portraying Brandy as decent, spiritual, high in moral and values yet also fun, down-to-earth, and sassy. It's apparent throughout that the entire writings are to "paint" the princess image rather than scoop the dirt or get the gossip.

While the book Brandy: An Intimate Look does a 5 stars account on Brandy with exceptional details, this one also does a pretty good job in explaining all of Brandy's accomplishments in the movies in acting as well as in the music industry. Brandy's personal information was glossed up to have just general accounts with nothing relevantly new to learn for the average die-hard fan. However, this book has more information on Brandy's acting gigs--the very first ones where she has just a few lines on screen] than some of the others. Considerable amount of information on her TV and movie roles are discussed. For fans of TV Show, Moesha, there is plenty to read.

The only downside to the book is that the majority of the chapters don't give insider information not known like personal relationships and guys she dated that I have read on other books. Also, her personality is not explored with actual facts but rather opinions the author has. Most of the book lacks factual accounts to back up claims. All in all, it was a nice compliment to have in addition to Brandy: An Intimate Look. Each one giving a diverse view to get a closer look at one of the most adored, most talked about, icons of all times, Brandy Norwood! Will she be the next Whitney Houston? Can she handle the stress? After reading this book, the answers are quite easy: she's determined, driven, and passionate! A definitely inspired diva ready to take on the music industry by storm and to never say never!!!

I LOVED the book,Brandy:Sittin'On Top Of The World. It was really informative, and since I AM Brandy's #1 fan, it was fun to read. It was great reading about all what Brandy had to do and her determination to reach were she is right now, which IS on top of the world!
