Product Description

Product Description
A junkie lies dead in an Edinburgh squat and he's just another dead addict. Nobody but Detective Inspector John Rebus, prowling the streets of the city in search of something so evil he can almost taste it, confronting the darkness within himself as well as without, gives a damn. Edinburgh is booming, businesses are moving in and new houses being built for the immigrants freshly arrived from London, ready to experience the city's inimitable 'quality of life'. But they don't see the city Rebus does: the treachery, deceit and sleaze he confronts as he digs deeper into a death that looks more and more like murder, the deeper he goes. There is something savage and seductive at large in Edinburgh, something from which there is nowhere to hide. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.
