2.0 out of 5 stars Not an engrossing book, 14 Sep 2007
By J. Kisseih (Croydon, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book by Iranian, Cherry Mosteshar, tells of the bribery, corruption and other awful goings on in a country which the Iranians are very patriotic about, even though a lot of them (according to the author) wish to escape to the the UK or US. Her description of a hospital in Iran makes the average NHS hospital in the UK seem like a five star hotel! However a large amount of the book concerns itself with conversations between seemingly unintelligent people and their day to day moans and groans about family, Iranian bureaucracy and the sexual needs of Iranian men. Cherry does endeavour to write her book in a light hearted and witty way.
