A sequel to The Children Star, it would be difficult to say much about the plot without using spoilers for that book. Suffice it to say it follows the life of an artist, Chrisoberyl, who starts the book impoverished on Valadon, the twin planet to Shora (which was featured in A Door into Ocean and Daughter of Elysium). A choice she makes leads to her accepting high-priced commissions and to her art becoming popular, or at least famous and controversial.

There's a lot more, which I really enjoyed but falls under the realm of spoilers. If you want descriptions of the plot, issues, etc. check out reviews at amazon.com; but read The Children Star first if you haven't already.
