4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, just be careful who you buy from, 26 Nov 2003
By A Customer
Ok, to be blunt i bought this book from A1 books in the marketplace. It took 2 months to arrive so I was fairly piqued to say the least- not good mindset to read BUT- This is a fantastic book. It is not an indepth look at any of the three men, but does give a superb introduction to anyone not familiar with them. It deals more with their lives (rather rude bits) than with their respective arts (Photography, Painting and Ballet), and also has sections on people important to them. Its kind of a tapestry weaving them together via the people they knew, loved, loathed and slept with. There are a number of pictures and photographs of high quality, although i've seen a few before elsewhere (see especially "naked men" by the same author).
I'd suggest you read Christopher Isherwoods Diaries, and Lost Years compilation as well to get a better idea of the social world they lived in, as everybody seems to pop up in there too- (and there are much better backgrounds on them.)
