Oh good lord this was a let down.

I finished this in just over 10 min's and frankly if I had paid for the book (it was a gift) I would have wanted my money back!

Too low on written text for me, which is such a shame because I usually love all things zombie. Yes it's a graphic novel, but the black and white illustrations also irked me. It just wasn't as dazzling on the eye as it could have been.

I wish I could say more but I've already passed it on and I'm struggling to remember anything about it other than that sinking feeling I got as I realised it just wasn't as good as I had hoped....

Keep milking that cash cow Brooks and the udders will fall off. I know you write about reanimated corpses but next time lets have something a little more fresh?

I'm a big fan of World War Z and really liked the last section from Zombie Survival Guide about historical battles (the rest was pretty dull though). The problem with Recorded Attacks is it just reproduces the actual stories from the last section of the Zombie Survival Guide with gory illustrations... the only new material is the pictures!

It's also very quick to read... not much more than an hour cover to cover. I'm not big on graphical novels though so take that as you choose.

On the plus side, I did get into the book and really liked it (for as long as it lasted)... it's probably more enjoyable for someone who hasn't read the Zombie Survival Guide and it really could have done with a bit more content.

Finally, after months of delays, the latest incarnation of zombie fact-ion from Max Brooks arrived. I sat down on the sofa with it, planning on just having a quick browse but I ended up reading the entire thing! I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually a graphic novel - I didn't really know what to expect when I pre-ordered it over a year ago. This takes tales from Brook's first novel, The Zombie Survival Guide, and retells the stories with fantastic black and white illustrations. There are chronological tales from across the globe dating fom 60,000 B.C to 1992; the stories are short, snippets which deliver the cold hard facts in brutal fashion. The book is totally engrossing and is without a doubt the best zombie graphic novel since the Walking Dead saga; the only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is because I don't think that that there are any new stories (I may be wrong as I read Zombie Survival Guide a couple of years ago but I certainly recognised all of them); it would have been nice to have had a couple of bonus tales. Whether a hardened Brooks fan or just interested in the genre you will definitely love this and will once again be left wondering what Brooks knows that the rest of us don't...
